When you take an important part of the business in-house, it provides more direct control over the process, and it's more likely to develop a sustainable strategy that generates consistent content that will keep the customer's attention for a long time.

2. Gather Information
 
By putting a lot of effort into the research, you will end up with a list of about 30 websites you have to choose from.
 
From this list, you will have a mix of clients and competitors and you will be able to choose from one of them, or try to negotiate an exclusive deal to have a free trial with the business.
 
You will also have access to the prospectus that the company has produced, which will provide you with information on how they work, the budget that they have for the process, and how much turnaround time the business will expect.
 
3 .Researching the Sales Team
 
When you've received a list of businesses, you will be able to do further research on the sales team that will be working on your account.
 
This is a crucial step that will determine the success of your job – if you are lucky, you will have a sales rep that is excited about the prospect of getting to know you and building a relationship with you to come up with ideas to help you sell.
 
If you are not lucky, you will find the sales team disinterested and unhelpful, or at best somewhat helpful, but there will be no enthusiasm.

You are now in the final stage of your research, and you are visiting the website of the businesses that you are interested in working with.

It's important to check how they deal with disputes, and to ensure that they have quality control procedures in place.
 
5 . Signing Up
 
Once you have looked around the website of each business and ascertained that you can work with them, you can sign up for a free trial of their services.
 
This will normally be the end of the technical stage of the process and you will then be able to begin working with the business.
 
How does the process work?
 
I use a sales tool called Spreadsheet4sale, which will allow me to automate my research into salespeople and sales processes.
 
This is because I have many clients that need help with this process, and I also want to manage my time more efficiently, so that I can spend more time working on my business.
 
If you don't have access to a tool like this, you can follow the process in a manual fashion, and only make the decision to hire a salesperson after you've done the research and narrowed down your list of prospects.
 
At the end of the process, you will have a file with contact details for the businesses that you have to work with.
 
These contacts are important for you, because you need to provide you with the best opportunity for each visitor
